Why have a coach? A coach is a facilitator of positive change. When you have a coach you have a support system that helps you aim high, provides the structure and encouragement to keep you stretching and growing and keeps you on track to reach your goals. As your coach my role is to be your personal champion. I am the keeper of a vision of you as sparkling and shining as you are in your most inspired moments. These are the moments just before "reality" sets in and you say to yourself, "What was I thinking, I can't possibly do or be that." I know who you are and I am there to encourage you and cheer you on. One of the key tools of a coach is to provide positive feedback. Are you your own worst critic? If the answer is "yes" you may be short-circuiting one of your critical sources of power. Being able to acknowledge and build on you accomplishments is one of the keys to self-efficacy and satisfaction. What is special about Leverage Your Power Coaching? My
hallmark as a coach is the way I listen to you. I listen for
several things in addition to what you are explicitly saying. I
listen to the words you use. Are you saying things in a way that
honors and empowers you or are you using words that deflate and
invalidate you? As I coach you I train you to speak
powerfully. I also listen for
what's possible in what you say, the things you really want but haven't
quite voiced and encourage you to discover them for yourself. How does coaching work? Coaching begins with a consultation that can be either in person or over the phone. We will talk about what coaching is, how it works and what is involved in having a coach. If we think there is a fit we will set up a time and agree on the fee for the goal setting session. At that session we'll create up to three challenging, exhilarating and audacious goals that can be achieved in about 3 months. Subsequent sessions are usually an hour and we recommend meeting weekly for a total of 12 sessions. Why does coaching work? Coaching works because it provides you with a structure to focus your attention on the things you want to achieve and changes you want in your life. We focus on solutions, not problems. There is power in having and maintaining focus. One of the ways to do that is to set aside regular times, such as weekly coaching sessions, to make sure that things are in focus and that you are building as you go. Things that can be done any time are often done at no time. Focusing your attention on an area encourages you to think creatively about that area and develop new insights and approaches. Coaching provides fertile ground for you to have aha moments and turn those moments into actions. Who are your clients? My
ideal clients are women business owners, managers in technology areas
such as information technology or pharmaceuticals. They have
worked hard to get to where they are and are ready for the
next challenge and realize that they would be more effective if they
didn't have to do it alone. As your coach I will be there to
support you 100%. Will you give me advice? Coaching
isn't about giving advice, it is about guiding you to
find your own answers. I believe that my clients have the
answers. As your coach I ask the questions that help you discover
your the answers and your own wisdom.
